What Is Eyelash Tinting?

Eyelash tinting can be considered the lash version of dyeing your hair. At LA Eyebrows, our professional cosmetic artists use a product similar to good-quality hair dye but a bit gentler to colour your lashes. The beauty of eyelash tinting is that it generally removes the need to use mascara. Your lashes will be bold and striking enough for you to just get up and go in the mornings. And, it’s super quick, pain-free, and safe to do!

  • Consultation

    One of our beauty techs will first consult with you about what you’re trying to achieve by getting an eyelash tint. 


    They will also have a look at your eyelashes to make sure that they’re not too dark (in which case you won’t see much of a difference by getting an eyelash tint) and that they’re in good condition to receive the lash colour treatment.

  • The Mix

    The next step is to mix the treatment that will be used on your lashes. Depending on whether you’re looking for a blue-back, brown-black or straight black colour, we will mix the right amounts of pigment and let it develop with the oxidising agent.

  • Preparing Your Lashes And Eye Area

    The next step is to prepare the eyelash and eye area. We will place under-eye gel pads or tint pads on the under-eye area of your face. This will prevent your lashes from touching your skin while the colour is developing.

  • Colouring Those Lashes

    We will then proceed to carefully paint the colour mixture onto your eyelashes, covering as much of the lashes as possible for the fullest and most gorgeous look. You then relax for a couple of minutes while the colour develops, following which we will gently remove the remaining dye with saline, lip-gloss wands, and cotton rounds. The setting process will take only a couple of minutes to avoid the dye overdeveloping and the chemicals damaging your lashes.

  • Post-Colour Maintenance

    After your lashes have been cleaned to remove all remaining products, we may use a fan to gently blow them dry.


    Keep your eye area dry for 24 hours after getting your lashes done and avoid using oil-based make-ups and creams on this area.
